10 Dec 2008 Snow Removal - Another Benefit
 |  Category: Uncategorized  | Comments off

So I was driving around town today and noticed how many streets were still a mess from the recent snow and ice storm. This is sooo different than Chicago where it seemed like the streets were cleaned within minutes of a storm.

I breathed a sigh of relief when I woke up to find that the streets at GreenWay Crossing were looking just like those Chicago streets. That’s right, snow removal is part of my homeowners dues (and lawn care for when the white stuff goes away)! Better yet, if there is ever a problem in the community, whether it’s snow removal or someone not cleaning up after their puppy, there is someone at Hubbell Community Management (that’s the HOA company) that I can talk to right away. Her name is April Tufano and she is super nice.

Um, so, there is going to be a little shindig at my place tomorrow night, and you’re invited. Yes, you. We’re talking tapas, sangria, professional DJ, tours, the works! Come find out why Hubbell’s brownstones rock. And if you’re on Twitter, start following @HubbellRealty (http://www.twitter.com/hubbellrealty) to find out the latest and greatest from them. Here’s some more info about TOMORROW’S P-A-R-T-Y:

Everything’s set for tomorrow’s party. Are you coming? Make sure to RSVP on facebook or just send me an email at hailey.brownstone@gmail.com. My address is 9160 Greenspire Drive, #118.

Directions: Take the University Avenue exit off I-35/80 and go west to 92nd Street. Turn south (left) at the intersection and then another left on Greenspire.

Or, you can take I-80 to Jordan Creek Parkway. Make a right at the exit, a left on University, a left on 92nd, and another left on Greenspire. Mine is the one on the end that will be rockin’!

09 Dec 2008 Ice, Ice, Everywhere But My Car

Anyone have to deal with snow this morning? On my way to work I didn’t know whether to laugh or feel sorry for the people that had snow and ice scraper marks all over their cars. And the worst part? When your door gets iced shut. I mean, that totally used to be me. Now that I have a garage, I don’t have to deal with that. I would have paid $75 a month to park in a garage at my old apartment just to avoid that, but my old place didn’t even have covered parking available!

08 Dec 2008 Holiday Shopping - and Snow!

What a crazy weekend! I’ve been hearing a lot about people cutting back on gift giving this year, but that sure didn’t seem to be the case at Jordan Creek yesterday. I had to park almost as far away as my house. OK, not really, but I did figure out on Google Maps that my place is just under two and a half miles from the mall, so getting there was pretty easy. And no, I’m not saying what I bought. Nice try Rachel, Michelle and Lil!

I’m sure glad that I got there yesterday though. Have you heard that we’re about to have our first blizzard of the year tomorrow morning? I had the folks at Hubbell Homes help me set up my programmable thermostat yesterday so that when I get home, the place will be nice and toasty without having the heat run all day. Not that it would make a huge dent in my heating bill with the geothermal and all, but every little bit helps. I never thought I would be so in to green living!

Hey guys – I wanted to remind you about my big party next week! I’m going shopping for the food on Tuesday with Michelle, and we’re going to try out some new recipes from Rachel Ray. What do you think? We’re going with a Tapas theme.

My newlywed friend Lil helped me get Cory Gleason, the DJ from her wedding, to play us some sweet tunes. I promise there will be no YMCA or Macarena going on at this shindig. This party is going to rock!

Send me a message on facebook to let me know if you are coming !
